Install or update Guru Maps on Android with an APK

You can install an official Guru Maps APK when you need an update before it becomes available in your app store. Get it from our Android download page. Google Play remains the simplest option for automatic updates.

Choose your edition​

  • Guru Maps (free): the regular app from Google Play, including users who purchased PRO features or a subscription inside it.
  • Guru Maps Pro (pro): the separate paid app named Guru Maps Pro. Having PRO features in the regular app does not mean you need this APK.
  • Huawei / AppGallery (huawei): the app for Huawei services and AppGallery.

Use the same edition as your installed app. Free and Huawei use the same app identifier and can replace each other; they are not separate installations. Do not switch between them just to get a newer version.

Install the APK​

  1. Open the download page on your Android device and download the APK for your edition.
  2. Open the downloaded file from your browser or file manager. Do not unpack it.
  3. If Android asks, allow installation from this specific browser or file manager. The setting may be called Install unknown apps or Allow from this source; wording varies by device.
  4. Return to the file and confirm Install or Update. Do not uninstall your existing app first. A normal compatible update keeps its data.
  5. Open Guru Maps. You can now turn off the installation permission for that source again.

There is no need to disable Google Play Protect. If it blocks installation, stop and contact support rather than bypassing the warning.

If installation fails​

Check the required Android version, available storage, and selected edition. Download the file again if the download was interrupted. An older APK normally cannot be installed over a newer one. Do not uninstall the app as a workaround: you could lose local data. Contact support if the problem persists.

Future updates​

This download page does not install updates automatically. Return here for a newer APK, or use Google Play when a newer compatible build is available for your installed edition. The archive includes release notes and SHA-256 checksums for checking downloaded files.
